This week i am working through the back end logic and front end UI for my first ever Android app!
After being set our task briefs at the end of week 8, I have been busy all week getting the solid game logic and some sort of interface working for the Snap card game app.
This week has seen me play more games of snap than i care to mention but going through the rules and all the possible permutations and game ending scenarios resulted in me having to new up some rigged games and write multiple game tests in order to see if my actual playGame and callSnap methods worked correctly.
Working with android studio, especially on the front end, has been somewhat challenging. Being someone who loves design and being creative, I found getting constraints to work how I want and the actual stylising aspect of the app, quite challenging!
All in all, i have immensely enjoyed this Java/Android project and can already seen a number of small apps I would like to make for myself in future!
Thanks for checking back in with me on week 9. Next week, we lift our heads up, start looking at jobs, CV building, LinkedIn and alot of computer science stuff to give us a better understanding of the industry and to help cope with some questions that may or may not come up at interviews!
