Chaining the Streams

Chaining is a mechanism to connect the output of one stream to another stream and create a chain of multiple stream operations. It is normally used with piping operations. Now we'll use piping and chaining to first compress a file and then decompress the same.




pipe() Method. The readable. pipe() method in a Readable Stream is used to attach a Writable stream to the readable stream so that it consequently switches into flowing mode and then pushes all the data that it has to the attached Writable.




A pipe is a tubular section or hollow cylinder, usually but not necessarily of circular cross-section, used mainly to convey substances which can flow - liquids and gases (fluids), slurries, powders and masses of small solids.




pipe() method to pass in one or multiple operator functions that can work on and transform each item in the observable collection. So this example takes each number in the range of 0 to 10, and multiplies it by 2. Then, the filter function to filter the result down to only the odd numbers.
