Crochet Tutorial: how to crochet Primrose Primula

t's probably one of my favourite flower yet. The heart of this flower would be further behind and you can attach it to wire or pipe cleaner. I twisted it for my designs, as I needed it to be flat. The finished flowers petals curve up and make it very cute and pretty flower to add to your designs.

Primula, or Auriculas or Primrose as well known names, are common and widely known autumn flowers in our garden. It's evergreen flower what is garnerers favourite due its easy care nature. It also comes in so many different colours and varieties, and makes great flower to add some colour to your garden.

Ideally these colours are made in four different colours. Also it is classified as intermediate design, but if you have followed my tutorials from June, I don,t think you would have trouble to make this. Pay attention on the last row, for extra long stitch on chain space, you could watch the video below if it gets confusing. Also in video I only use triple crochet to get bit more height on third row, but method and chart will have double round instead.

YOU NEED:

embroidery thread or 4 ply cotton
2.5 mm crochet hook

METHOD:

Row 1: leave long end, chain (ch) 4 and join with slip stitch (ss) to first ch.

Row 2: ch 4 (counts as first triple crochet) and make 6 triple crochet (trp) into the ring, ss to top of the ch 4 to form a cup, fasten off here if you use different colours.

Row 3: Inside of cup facing, (and second colour) chain 4 (counts as first trp), make 2 trp to same space, ch1, *make 3 trp to the next space, ch 1, repeat from * 5 more times, ss to top of ch 4 space. Fasten off invisibly if using different colours.

Row 4: (add third colour) ch 3 (counts as first double crochet), make 3 double (dbl) crochets to next space, make 1 dbl to next space, ch 1, * make 1 dbl to next space, make 3 dble to next space, make 1 dbl to next space, ch 1, repeat from * five more times, ss to top of the ch 3 space. Fasten off invisibly if used different colours.

Row 5: (add forth colour) ch 1 (counts as first single crochet), make 2 dbl to next space, make 2 trp to next space, make 2 dble to next space, 1 single crochet (sc) to next space, and now to chain space make sc through trp in row 2,* sc 1 to next space, 2 dbl to next space, 2 trp to next space, 2 dbl to next space, 1sc to next space and 1 sc through trp on row 2, repeat from the * five more times, ss to ch 1 space and fasten off invisibly.
