Here's how you can modify any existing Podio app to suit the way you work most efficiently and to reflect the way you think and talk about your business. I'll show you an example using my Deliverables app.

Right now I'm looking at an item in my Deliverables app. The content's of this item is by the app's template so to add new functionality, rename fields or remove fields I need to modify this app's template.

This is done by clicking the Modify template button. The template of the app is now revealed and I can make changes.

I'd like to add a Category field to this app, and I'm going to call it Status. I'll also name the different choices of status -- now my team will use this new field to keep everyone up to date on how their work is progressing. And, these categories can also be used to filter items and create reports.

I'll also add a duration field and name it Time estimate, so when we're planning each project we, team members can give a clear indication of how much production time they expect for each deliverable.

I'm going to remove this Resources field as we've found we don't need it. But when I do so I need to choose if I want to delete any data that has been entered in existing items using this field.

As soon as I click Done my changes to the template are saved and reflected in my existing items and when I create new items.

If I want to change the name, icon or further setting of an app. I first click the name of the app, followed by the wrench icon, and then App settings.

As the work my team are actually delivering marketing content, and we call each piece of content an assignment so I'm going to rename this app Content Assignments, and the single item will just be an Assignment.

I'm also going to change the default layout of the app to Card view as this suits the overview we need best. I click Save changes and the changes are applied instantly.

Please note that the ability to Modify app templates and settings is only available to Admins of the workspace in which the app sits.
