This guitar is designed for the player who is "on the go", but it also shines in other situations such as campfires, apartment living and carry-on luggage when flying. You don't want to leave home without your six strings but you don't want the hassle associated with bringing your expensive collector guitars on an airplane.
First off, this MD-20 is surprisingly loud! I also consider it to have excellent and versatile tone for a little bitty plastic amp powered with a 9v. battery.
I always have a guitar on me when I hit the commute into the city, but this one takes the cake when it comes to convenience. Very light and quite streamlined. I play it while I wait for the bus, I play it while I walk down the sidewalk. These little wonders sound the best in the stairwells leading down to the subway but they hold their own on the platform even if you play with a drummer.
Everybody is going to want to try it whenever you bring this to the campfire or any other situation with a circle full of acoustic guitars. You can play lead guitar style riffs with a gritty tone and never drown out all those who are not plugged in.
Practice in your apartment without troubling the neighbors and skip all the things you would do to get your stage rig strung together. Simpler than wireless.
Save yourself from the nerve wrack of flying with an instrument. I have brought one of these type of guitars every time we fly for years now and none of the crew has ever counted it as a carry-on OR the "personal item". They run it through the machine and I am on my way. No problems. I bring my roller board, a large book bag and the guitar, never got charged, never got hassled. Bring one of these and you can easily fit it in an overhead bin that already appears to be full.
