In this Django tutorial, we will install Python 3.5.2 which we will need for our Django Pro Tutorial series.

n this Django tutorial, we will install Python 3 for Django tutorial series. Before we can even get started working with Django we need the Python programming language loaded on your computer. Since Django is built on top of the Python programming language we need a version of Python 3 to work with Django.

How To Install Python 3
Step 1: Visit http://python.org+

Step 2: On the menu bar you will see a button that is called download. Hover that button and you will then see a new window popup click the button that says 3.5.X. This will start the download process.

Step 3: Once the download of Python 3.5.X is complete. Open the download package. Depending on your operating system this should start the installation process.

Step 4: The first window you see is “Welcome To The Python Installer” window. Click Continue.

Step 5: The next window you will see is “Read Me”. Click Continue.

Step 6: Next Window is the “Software License Agreement” this explains a little history of the Python programming language and the terms of service. This is the legal stuff you may read it if you like or just click continue. You may or may not get a popup that says you must agree to the license click agree.

Step 7: Our next window is the destination window and this allows you to choose the location of installation. I advise you to keep the default unless your an advanced user and know what you are doing. Click continue.

Step 8: Finally the install window. This window will allow us to install Python on our system simply just click install. This will install the Python software.

Step 9: You should see a window that says you have successfully installed Python.

Step 10: Test the Python3 installation. We can do this by opening up your terminal. To open the terminal on a Mac go to your application directory and then utilities directory. Then open the terminal app. Once the terminal app is open we will see if we can open the Python Interpreter.

Step 11: Type python3 in the terminal and press enter. You should see the Python interpreter open up. If it does not open then try just typing python.

We could also use a command to check the version. In your terminal please type the following.
