Oracle at Delphi - ASMR Documentary
The Oracle of Delphi was a high priestess, known as Pythia, who served at the sanctuary of the Greek god Apollo in the ancient Greek shrine of Delphi. The Oracle was regarded as the most powerful woman of the Classical period. The oracle spoke the words of the god delivered as prophecies whispered to her by Apollo. The peak period of influence of the Oracle of Delphi was around 500-300 BCE, when people came from all over the ancient Greek empire and beyond to consult with the revered high priestess. The lack of a strict religious dogma associated with the worship of Greek gods encouraged scholars to congregate at Delphi, and it became a focal point for intellectual enquiry, as well as an occasional meeting place where rivals could negotiate.
