A terrific days racing, with a top class entry in the RH Sidecars, with Rob Wilson, Ivor Matthews, John Halsey, Dave Steer, Matt Fumarola, and Andy Symons all in the mix, and plenty of other crews on the fringe on top class. The racing was more than enthusiastic at times, with some very hard charging into the bends. The 500cc Solo class has the 1998 winner John Jefferies back to defend his title, but he's got some stiff competition in the form of Phil Ashcroft, Mitch Godden, and the very spectacular Phil Ambrose, who's full throttle , leg trailing style is always worth the entry fee alone. You can be sure of some spectacular action with Ambrose in the entry. In the 350cc Solo's, the flying Jon Underwood has looked almost unstoppable this season in this class, could anyone stop him from taking the Dumpling crown this season? Mark Rowe from Cornwall looks to be the favourite for the 250cc class, but it's not going to be an easy ride for Rowe, especially as the young Ashley Denham is getting quicker with each meeting. The 500cc Sidecars looks wide open, with many crews around the same level of ability, so who would take the win? Mike Read, Steve Kenchington, Ricky Neale, Chris Salisbury, Chris Hall, or Shaun Chick? Take your pick. A cracking 1999 Devonshire Dumpling, with some great racing all through the day.
