How to publish Plasmic projects to Github

So if you're publishing your plasmic project to GitHub for the first time, what you need to do is click on this blue published button here, select to push to GitHub. And if you're doing this for the first time, you'll need to connect your GitHub account. It'll authenticate behind the scenes and, uh, you now get the option to put in your repository name.

So for instance, we can name this plasmic app. Actually let's make it plasmic juice. I'll leave the framework to be next JS and leave the language to be type script and come all the way here and specify a URL for the domain. So let's do plasmicjuice and then click on save repository information.

The next thing we need to do is select if we want to push directly to the main branch or push to a different branch and then send a PR from that branch to Main, I will commit directly to Main and I'll hit on publish. So behind the scenes, GitHub actions are going to take our project and publish it to GitHub.

And our project has been successfully pushed to GitHub. Um, something that GitHub does in addition to publishing these sites to GitHub, is it, it deploys it to GitHub pages and then provides this URL that you can click on to see the live site. So this is the site, uh, deployed to GitHub pages. Uh, but that's not what we want to do.

What I want to do though, is check my repositories on GitHub to ensure that this project has been deployed there. So let's get rid of this and I'll put in new tab and go to my repositories and I should now see that I have the plasmic repository available on my Github. From here, you can choose to deploy this project to any hosting provider of your choice, like Netlify or vercel, as we will see in a different video.
