Active Learning Course

The objectives of Active Learning is for teachers and students to collaborate and become active learners who reflect and share. The course will begin on July 15, 2012 and will continue for a year.

Active learning means learning in a way that engages the learner with the content and other people. The other people may be the teacher, fellow students, or people outside the course. Active learning is a workshop that requires a change in attitude about what it means to learn. Both teachers and students will benefit from taking the course. Active learning is a weekly seminar for students and teachers.

The Webinars will focus on learning and how to become active learners. Teachers will learn how to promote active learning in and out of the classroom and students will learn how to become active learners.

Here’s a bit about me. I've been teaching in the K-12 sector with the Internet in blended learning formats since 1993. Moodle has changed quite a bit in the past 17 years, but because I am constantly upgrading sites to the latest Moodle versions and teaching online with Moodle, I get a lot of hands-on practice.
