This video is about one of the most important data types of python language and that is called list. Python lists are basically the combination of the same or different types of items, combined in the form of mutable data types. The size and configuration are not fixed and can be changed at the convenience of the user. That’s why these are called mutable objects.
This is the first of the two lecture sessions, in which the list and its fundamental operations are explained with the help of illustrated coding examples. Some of the important list operations are described here are:
1. len() -for finding lent of the list
2. append() - for adding a single element into a list
3. extend() -extending the lists up to certain defined elements
4. insert() - inserting a certain element at a certain position of the list
5. remove() -removing a certain element by value from the list
6. pop() -removing a certain by index from the list
7. list slicing with ':' - taking different slices of the list
8. reverse() -for reversing the elements in the list
9. min() and max() -finding min or max out of the list
10. count() -counting the number of the occurrence of certain elements in the list
11. Combining lists (concatenation) using '+'
12. Repeating Lists using '*'
13. index() -finding the index of the element in the list
14. sort()--- for ascending sort
15. sort() -- for descending sort
16. clear() -- clears all the elements
