present continuous ability

Continuous ability
To say continuous ability, we generally use ‘be + able to…’ (am/is/are + able to)
Structure:
Sub + am/is/are + able to + V1 + obj
We are able to write letters in English now.
We can also form by using ‘cab + be + V.ing’
Sub + can + be + V.ing + obj + T.P
We can be writing letters in English now.

Note:
But ‘be + able to + V1’ is more formal than ‘can be + V.ing’
Negative:
Sub + am/is/are + not/un + able to + V1 + obj
She is not able to understand you.
She is unable to understand you.

Sub + cannot+ be + V.ing + obj + T.P
She cannot be cooking pastries now a days.
Question:
Q.W + am/is/are + sub + able to + V1 + obj?
How is he able to solve this type of sums?

Q.W + can + sub + be + V.ing + O?
How can he be solving this type of sums?
Negative:
Q.W + am/is/are + not + sub + able to + V1 + obj?



Why cannot you be continuing your education?






We are able to speak English well/properly now
We can be speaking English well/properly now.


I am unable to read the paper without spectacles.
I can’t be reading the paper without spectacles.





