The partial lunar eclipse occurring Friday morning is the longest lunar eclipse in 600 years. It is also the last lunar eclipse of the year. The beaver moon, which is the name of this particular Taurus full moon, will last for 3 hours, 28 minutes, and 23 seconds at its peak. The longest of the century!

Why are lunar eclipse’s special? Full moons in general are the completion of the moon cycle, ushering in an end of a chapter, a release of the past, and the full emotional range that come with it. A lunar eclipse amplifies all the energies of a full moon. This lunar eclipse is during the beaver full moon in Taurus. The beaver full moon is a symbol of hibernation, retreating for the winter months. While Taurus is also a symbol of foundations, stability, and values.

How to work with this Lunar Eclipse:

This is the best time to work with the root chakra. Take a moment to connect with mother earth, as Taurus is an earth sign. Breath deeply into the root chakra, where our stability, foundation, and security is stored. Wear red (the color of the first chakra) to reflect the appearance of the moon turning into a blood moon during the lunar eclipse. When in meditation ask for protection and guidance. Ask what values need to be released and restored to cultivate a solid foundation. Listen carefully as your higher self, your spirit guides, and the Universe responds. Write down any key information that comes up during the meditation. Thank your higher self, spirit guides, and the Universe for their guidance and protection.
