Megaohmmeter ESO210/2GState of insulation is highly important for the safety of maintenance and correct operation of electric devices. Systematic tests are absolutely necessary when detecting a deteriorating insulation. Such tests are constantly conducted during monitoring and measuring procedures. ESO210/2G is designed for measuring insulation resistance of dead electric circuits as well as for measuring AC and DC voltage. The megohmmeter is powered by a built-in electromechanical generator. Rotation velocity of the handle must be from 120 to 140 rotations per minute. The device has a plastic case. The front panel has sockets for connecting sensing wires. There is also a pointer indicator with measuring scales and controls. Let's measure insulation resistance of the cable's section. We connect sensing wires to the device according to the diagram. Using the alligator clip we connect a blue cable to the cable shield. A yellow cable goes to one of the cable cores. We put controls into necessary positions, and crank the generator handle while the measurement option button is pressed. A glowing red LED indicates presence of high output voltage on output terminals of the megohmmeter. The measured data is displayed by the pointer indicator. The supply set includes ESO210/2G megohmmeter, a set of measuring probes, an alligator clip, and a protective case.
