Using Electronics to Catch More Fish

Advancements in technology are forever changing the way we fish.  The days of using a flasher are now a thing of the past, as products like Garmin Panoptix LiveScope™ allow anglers to have a live view under the water.  No longer do you have to wonder if there is a fish in a given area, you can now scan your electronics to see if there is a fish there before you ever make a cast. 

During the summer of 2018, Garmin introduced Panoptix LiveScope™ to the fishing industry at ICAST in Orlando, Florida.  LiveScope™ is the latest addition to the Panoptix line of products.  Capable of scanning both below and in front of the boat, LiveScope™ provides a live view under the water.  The new technology excels in a variety of situations including ice fishing, and other vertical presentations.  In honor of the one year anniversary of Panoptix LiveScope™, we take a look back at the initial reaction of the industry, as well as check in to hear what everyone has to say about it now!  

In 2019, Garmin once again introduced a new product at ICAST.  The Garmin Force™ Trolling Motor claimed top honors in the New Product Showcase and was the most talked-about new item at the show.  From its rugged design, to the strength and power generated by a brushless motor, the Garmin Force™ Trolling Motor is worthy of all the buzz.  Our crews had the opportunity to get a sneak peek at this new product days before the trade show began, and that content is featured at the end of this episode.
