Abstract:
Knowledge and capacity for the retrieval of Information is significant to an itemized client issue. Information retrieval demonstration based on keyword entering manages an exceptionally enormous examination on records to be searched and can be of any length and thus to search in an entire article is likewise in respect to any length. Systematic assessment of the IR system permits changing of the positioning capacity which is proposed and proceeded to another probabilistic positioning undertaking better than the considered vector demonstrate for the sorts of questions identified with a chosen item or business or words by giving positioning revision and the absence of appraisal avoids all around tune of the thought about positioning utility. In this paper we are proposing a method which reduces the search space with the help of indexing that uses the concept of stemming and knowledge of stop words. Likewise our research search technique uses ontology strategy to coordinate area learning information on searching and to get the formal indexing information. Using a proper Stemming algorithm we solved multiple forms of problems. Adding recall to our system by query expansion is possible using domain knowledge and ontology. In this paper we describe a technique which uses the concept of stemming so that a word can be searched using its root form. It also reduces search space by removing stop words. There are two types of comparisons that are performed affecting the search results. They are: ‘Search using ontology or without it’ and ‘Phrase based vs. term based’ search.

With this idea in mind, we designed a system which uses a standard stemming algorithm. Some Ontology using domain knowledge and a proper retrieval approach that performs a ranked retrieval on documents based on user query. Also the retrieval is performed on term based and phrase based separately as a phrase can also be an important term consisting of multiple words.
We proposed here the term based and phrase based text retrieval process consisting of following phases: Indexing and Query formulation.
