Ford Motor Company and the Bronco Wild Fund have joined forces to address the increasing threat of wildfires. To support firefighting efforts, they are donating a special vehicle called the Bronco Badlands® with Sasquatch® off-road features to the National Park Service. This vehicle will serve as a command center for coordinating firefighting operations at Bandelier National Monument in New Mexico.

The Bronco Wild Fund was established by Ford in October 2020. This project is funded by a portion of the proceeds from sales of Ford Bronco two-door, four-door, and Ford Bronco Sport models, as well as licensed merchandise. The purpose of this fund is to enhance outdoor preservation initiatives across the United States. As part of their commitment to these efforts, Ford unveiled the Bronco Wildland Fire Rig Concept and announced a partnership to raise funds for the National Forest Foundation's programs and promote fire prevention awareness.
In addition to these initiatives, Ford recently announced the launch of Team Rubicon Powered By Ford. This is a disaster relief initiative aimed at assisting communities affected by hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, and wildfires. Now, Ford continues their dedication to addressing wildfires with the introduction of the new 2023 Ford Bronco Wildland Firefighting Command Rig.
The 2023 Ford Bronco Wildland Firefighting Command Rig closely follows the Filson concept in terms of its equipment and design. It is being donated by Ford, through the Bronco Wild Fund, to the National Park Service specifically for use at Bandelier National Monument. This particular area has a history of natural fire occurrences, with the urgent need for an effective firefighting vehicle.
Bandelier National Monument is designated as a wilderness area, which means it has limited infrastructure and is challenging to access. This is precisely why Ford's donation of the Bronco Wildland Firefighting Command Rig is significant. It will be joined by another rig that will be donated to another agency in need. Both vehicles were developed by Darley, a company specializing in the construction and distribution of defense, fire, and rescue vehicles.
The Bronco Wildland Firefighting Command Rig is equipped with a range of special features to support firefighting operations. These include a government communication system, satellite and antenna connections, a drone with live video feeds that can be viewed from the vehicle, specialized software, a grille guard, a Warn winch, durable beadlock wheels, a roof rack for additional equipment, a light bar, a siren, and emergency lighting.
For over a century, Ford has played a vital role in providing emergency transportation, power, and delivering essential goods during crises. The creation of the Bronco Wild Fund was driven by Ford's passion for the outdoors, and they are excited to donate the Bronco Wildland Firefighting Command Rig to Bandelier National Monument.
