01 HyperNext Studio : Creating Software - Hello World example

This is a brief introduction to HyperNext Creator and shows how to create a Hello World program that displays a text box and also speaks the text.

Welcome to HyperNext Studio.

HyperNext is an easy to use software creation system for beginners.

It is completely free and runs on Microsoft Windows platform plus some older versions of Mac OS X.


This first video will show you how to create a simple 'Hello World' program.

Start by launching HyperNext Creator.

The HyperNext interface has just one design window and simple tool bar, plus three modes: Design, Preview and Run.

Controls such as buttons and fields can be rapidly placed.
Then their English-like scripts edited with its simple Script Editor.

Now to create your Hello World program:-

1 - To create a new project use the File menu and select New
You can navigate to where you want to place your project.

2 - Create two buttons using the tool bar.

3 - Click on the first button and then click Script on the tool bar.

4 - In the Editor type Message 'Hello World' and then close the Editor.

5 - Click on the second button and then click Script on the tool bar.

6 - In the Editor type Say 'Hello World' and then close the Editor.

Note, buttons can be renamed and have their properties changed but that is not needed here.

7 - In the Mode Switcher click the Run button.

8 - If the Editor opens up it means that there was a script error,
simply correct your script and try to Run it again.

9 - Click each button to see what happens.

The first button should show a Hello World message box in the center of the screen.

The second button should speak out the text Hello World.

10 - Close your running project by clicking the Design button in the Mode Switcher.

11 - Congratulations on running your Hello World program.
