DESCRIPTION of Countifs function
Excel Countifs

COUNTIFS is a function that counts how many times something happens.
The COUNTIFS function applies criteria to cells in different ranges and counts how many times all of the conditions are met.
Syntax
COUNTIFS(criteria range1, criteria1, [criteria range2, criteria2]...)
The arguments to the COUNTIFS function are as follows:
criteria range1 Required. The first range in which the linked criteria should be evaluated.
criteria1 is a must-have. The conditions that specify which cells will be counted in the form of a number, expression, cell reference, or text. Criteria can be represented as 28, B6, "oranges," or "35," for example.
criterion range2, criterion range2, criterion range2, criterion range Optional. Additional ranges and the requirements that go with them. There are a total of 224 range/criteria pairs that can be used.
Remarks
The criteria for each range are applied one cell at a time. The count grows by one if all of the first cells match their corresponding conditions. The count increases by 1 if all of the second cells meet their corresponding requirements, and so on until all of the cells have been reviewed.
The COUNTIFS function considers an empty cell as a 0 value.
The question mark (?) and asterisk (*) are wildcard characters that can be used in criteria. An asterisk matches any sequence of characters, while a question mark matches any single character. Type a tilde () before the character to find a genuine question mark or asterisk.
