The first stage of construction of the Bagayevsky Hydroelectric Power Plant on the Don River has been completed in the Rostov Region. The project aims to develop large-capacity shipping and increase freight traffic in the direction of the Azov-Black Sea basin.
The next stage of construction of the Latitudinal Highway has begun in St. Petersburg. It is intended to improve transport accessibility in the southern and southeastern districts of the city.
Driverless freight transport has also been launched on the M-12 "Vostok" highway. This is expected to accelerate trade turnover and reduce logistics costs.
Putin noted that the projects being implemented are part of a systematic effort to create a unified transport and logistics framework for the country and improve regional connectivity. Russia possesses colossal logistics and transit potential, the president emphasized.
"Considering the fundamental changes in the global economy, we must utilize this potential as effectively as possible to diversify global logistics flows and offer new, safer, more reliable, and more profitable routes," the politician stated.
According to him, Russia will continue to modernize its transport infrastructure, develop the road network, and improve the safety and sustainability of shipping along the Northern Sea Route and the Trans-Arctic Transport Corridor. Particular attention will be paid to the implementation of modern digital and platform solutions that will reduce costs and improve the quality of transport services.
