Pinterest Auto Post WordPress Plugin

We're going to take a quick look at the Pinterest Auto-Post WordPress plugin from Reliti. It allows you to automatically pin your WordPress posts to a Pinterest board when they're published.

We're going to do a quick demo video to show you what the new Reliti Pinterest Auto-Post WordPress looks like and how it works.

Let's start by taking a look at our Pinterest board. I just made this board. There's nothing here yet. And we'll come back in just a bit.

Over to WordPress.

I've already setup a partial post with an image in it. There could be whatever text you want, but for this demo it's just a single image. There's also another image attached to the post, but it's not in the actual post content. We'll see that in just a bit.

If we scroll down to the meta box for the plugin you have 4 options.

The first is whether you want to pin this post at all. My guess is that if you're going to install a plugin to pin your posts you're probably going to use it in most cases, so the default is that it pins. But you might have a few where you don't want to pin, and that option is there.

Next option is what board to pin to. In this case there's just the one Test Board since that's all that this account has. But all of your boards would be there.

Next is a place where you can type a message. If you leave this blank the excerpt will be used. But this way you can type in whatever you want.

And the last is where you select your image.

In this case it's already picked the first image in the content, but you can pick any other images here as well. The second image is attached to the post, but not used in the content.

These images come from several places. The first is the featured image. Next comes the Facebook and Twitter images if you have Yoast SEO installed. Then it pulls images from the post content. And last it will look for any images that are attached, but not used in the content.

Clicking one of these images selects it as the image that will be used for your pin.

And that's it.

The pin will be created when the post is actually published. So we can save the post as a draft as many times as we want, and nothing will happen. Only when we click the publish button will the pin be created.

And if you like to schedule your posts, the pin won't be created until the scheduled post is actually published. This lets you schedule posts out in the future and have the pin automatically created as the post goes live.

The last option is to go back and create pins for posts that have already been published. If you save an already published post that has not already been pinned, a pin will be created.

Once published, the meta box will now show a link to the pin.

And there's our pin. If we go back to our board you can see that the pin is now there as well.
