SmartMicroScope Optix

Introducing the SmartMicroScope Optix for chromebooks, PCs and Macs. Plug and play microscope camera. No microscope software to install.

Turn your traditional microscope into a Digital Microscope quickly and easily and without installing software.

Simply remove the eyepiece from your traditional microscope and replace it with the SmartMicroScope Optix microscope eyepiece camera.

Connect to the USB port on your computer.

Open the Google Chrome browser and go to smartmicroscopeviewer.com.

Enter your user name and password and click OK.

You now see the live image.

Click the image to go to full screen mode. This is ideal when
projecting for all students to see. – projection microscope

We can increase the image resolution. - Resolution microscope

You can take pictures and record videos. Notice the timer begins when the video starts and turns off when recording stops.

Images and videos can be viewed in the Gallery.

You can view or save the Gallery items. There are three save options: DropBox, Google Drive and Local Drive

We will choose “Google Drive”

This will save the images directly to your google drive. – save microscopic images directly to google drive

Each time you save an image to google drive, the tab opens to confirm the image was saved.

Click the HELP button to easily access the quick start guide.
There is a link at the top for a quick start video as well.

Within the online app you can measure. – Mitosis image

Do a quick assessment to see what students have learned. – Onion cell image

Add annotations to live or saved images.”

Draw a moveable circle to point out areas of interest. – Bacteria image

And compare two images side by side. See the difference between
an artery and vein?”

The SmartMicroScope Optix turns your traditional microscope into a digital microscope that can be projected for all students to see at the same time.
