Tricks & Tips on self-study/ ACCA

This is a short video about my self-study technique for ACCA Exams.
Whether you’re an experienced pro or a newbie at the ACCA exams, it certainly helps to maintain a list of things that most successful ACCA students do in order to ensure a high performance in clearing these exams.

Technical Articles
Paper specific technical articles published on the ACCA Global website are a great way to get in-depth ideas on clearing specific topics. Each examiner article covers important points about the paper and give guidelines on how to go about solving particular questions. There are technical techniques, exam tips, problem solving methods and other technical resources that can give you a better understanding of the topic which can aid in your preparation.

Summary Notes
ACCA study materials are usually too extensive to memorise. Preparing summary notes helps in the learning process and makes it easier for you to review before the exam. Preparing notes will give you the information you need to know about each topic.

Examiner report
All examiner reports have vital information on your performance and give you a specific road map on the changes you need to make for each topic. Ensure that you’ve studied the feedback you have previously received and incorporate those recommendations in your study plan. Also consider the examiner feedback when reviewing your answers to sample/past papers.

Timekeeping.
Time management is key when writing an ACCA exam. When practicing past exam papers set a countdown timer to help you manage your time. Train yourself to give crisp, concise answers to questions and save time where ever possible.

Pace yourself.
Treat your ACCA prep as a marathon, not a race. Avoid leaving a large amount of material to study towards the end. Start studying well before the exam date and plan your progress as you study. Formulate content into smaller chunks and set study milestones to ease the learning process. Reward yourself for achieving these milestones by taking short breaks to rejuvenate and then go right back to prep.
