The Universal Character Customization System is a UE5 tool that empowers developers by allowing them to design their own humanoid characters within the engine in minutes.
The package contains 2 base meshes (Female & Male) with more than 50 morph targets (i.e. blendshapes), efficient skin, eyes & hair shaders with hundreds of parameters, bone structure modifiers that allow deforming the characters & clothing perfectly and much more.
The project includes over 50 unique skeletal meshes (100+ total considering both genders) with medieval armor sets, helmets, robes, hoods, and contemporary clothing. It currently includes 11 extremely customizable base hair meshes and 7 beard styles are included as well. Hairstyles are animated both by the wind and by character's head movement. These are vertex animations so the cost is trivial, but the quality is very high: it includes backstop configuration to prevent any clipping and can be adapted to (almost) any head gear.
UCS is plug-and-play and includes a customized version of Epic's default Third Person Character BP. It can use any UE5 animations without any work, and can use any UE4 animations easily as well (as seen in this video). It's fully retargeted to UE5 and includes Feet IK. Characters can be saved and loaded in seconds, and variations can be easily created either manually or using ahandy randomizer tool.
The Universal Character Customization System has been updated over 11 times, every update including improved code, new functionality, as well as new clothing and hairstyles.
