How to Add Plugins to a Minecraft Server

How to add plugins to a minecraft 1.18.1 Server! In this video you will be shown how to add plugins into your very own server! If you follow this guide all the way though. You will have a full understanding on how to add plugins to a server.

First Step: Your going to want to go to https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download/server and download the minecraft jar file.

Second Step: You going to want to create a folder on your desktop and name it what ever you would like. Click and drag the jar file you just downloaded and put it into your server folder. Make sure you have java download or nothing will work. Once java is installed if needed double click on the jar file to get some of the server files.

Java: https://www.oracle.com/java/technologies/downloads/#jdk17-windows (you will need to click in windows and then x64 Installer)

Third Step: Accept the End User License Agreement which is clicking on the EULA document and changing "eula=false" to "eula=true"

Fourth Step: Start your server again to finish getting all your files you will need to run the server, after you double click on the jar folder a start doc will pop up on your screen showing everything that is happening within your server (aka backend) . Once you see the word "done" in the backend you will want to type "stop" in the server application!

Fifth Step: We are now going to setup port forwarding so other people can join your server. Go to you command prompt by pressing Windows + R to bring up a search application type cmd and a black window will come up. Type "ipconfig" and your computers ip logs will pop up write down the IPV4 address and the default gateway ip. Take you default gateway and go to your internet browser and type in that ip. You will be asked to login at this time to access your router. Once your in your router your going to look for port forward and open the following ports... TCP/UDP 25565 - UDP 19132-19133 once your done opening the ports you can save and close your internet browser.

Sixth Step: Go back into your server folder and click on Server document and look for "server ip" once you find that you will now place in your IPV4 address and click save and close the document.

Seventh Step: You can now Launch your server by clicking on your server jar file. Once it is complete make sure you type in the server application op playername" (replace playername with your in game name) that will give you operator in your server and make things easier when it comes to setting some stuff up.

Eighth Step: Now go into your minecraft launch and go to multiplayer and click add server. Once your there you can name your server what ever you want and then type in your IPV4 address! That address will only work for you when connecting to your server. You now have created a server that you can play on even with your friends.

Final Step: Have fun and don't forget to give your friends the public ip so they can connect to your server. To get your public ip, go to google and type "ip" that will give you your local ip but never give out your local ip to someone you don't trust because that could lead to DDOS Attacks. To test if the local ip works go to direct connect in multiplayer and type in that ip. If this address works then your server is successfully created!!!
