Python Decorators Tutorial

So what is a decorator? Decorators in Python allow us to modify the behaviour of function or class. Python Decorators allow us to wrap another function in order to extend the behaviour of it, without permanently modifying the function we are wrapping. This functionality is possible because in python functions are considered first class objects. This means that functions can be referenced to, passed to a variable and returned from other functions. It also means Functions can be defined inside another function and can also be passed as argument to another function.
