2018 PSE Evolve Series

PSE has unveiled its 2018 bow lineup, which it broke down into four categories. In this video, we are going to look at the Evolve Series, which includes the Evolve 31, Evolve 35, Carbon Air Stealth EC, Carbon Air Stealth SE, React and Ferocity.

The Evolve Series offers up what PSE promises is the smoothest draw cycles and highest let off of any of its hunting bows.

The Evolve 31 and Evolve 35 introduced the world to the Evolve series of cams last year and they both return for 2018. The only change for these bows for 2018 is a new stiffer cable ride with the roller system. Only change is the new FRS system, which has a stiffer cable rod with the roller glide.

Specs for the Evolve 31 include an Axle to Axle length of 31 inches, brace height of 6 ¼ inches, IBO rated speed of 346 feet per second, let off of 80 to 90%, draw lengths of 24 ½ to 30 inches and a mass weight of 4.3 pounds. Retail Price is $999.99.

Specs for the Evolve 35 include an Axle-to-Axle length of 35 inches, brace height of 6 ½ inches, IBO rated speed of 340 feet per second, let off of 80 to 90%, draw lengths of 26 to 31 ½ inches and a mass weight of 4.6 pounds. Retail price is $999.99.

The Carbon Air Stealth features a brand new riser for 2018. It is less rounded and more angular than last year's model and the riser is no longer bridged. Other changes include a non-integrated string stop and limb pockets that are now fully integrated into the riser.

Specs for the Carbon Air Stealth EC include an Axle-to-Axle length of 33 inches, brace height of 6 inches, IBO rated speed of 342 feet per second, let off of 80 to 90%, draw lengths of 25 ½ to 31 inches, and a mass weight of 3.2 pounds. Retail price is $1,499.99.

The Carbon Air Stealth SE is largely the same bow, outside of smaller Evolve cams, which result in a slightly shorter 5 7/8 inch brace height and a draw length range of 24 to 29 ½ inches.

According to PSE, when the Evolve series was introduced last year, they started to get requests for the Evolve cam system in a less expensive bow. The result is the new PSE React, which includes a new, lightweight riser. What separates this bow from the other Evolve series models is the riser is less complex and requires less machine time and it uses a less expensive cable rod system that forgoes the roller glide.

Specs for the PSE React include an axle to axle length of 33 inches, brace height of 7 inches, IBO rated speed of 330 feet per second, let off of 80 to 90%, draw lengths of 26 to 31 ½ inches, and a mass weight of 3.9 pounds. Retail price is $799.99.

The final member of PSE's Evolve family is the new Ferocity, though it uses a new three-track binary cam rather than the four-track Evolve cam.

Specs for the Ferocity include an axle to axle length of 30 ¾ inches, brace height of 6 ½ inches, IBO rated speed of 328 feet per second, let off of 80%, draw lengths of 24 ½ to 30 inches and a mass weight of 3.5 pounds. MSRP is $449.99 for a bare bow and $550 for a package bow.
