Pattern Matching features in C#

Pattern Matching features have been coming to the C# programming language for several years. There has been a real acceleration in how C# is evolving.

C# is offering more features that programmers may appreciate from functional languages like F# or Elixir. Some of these may help you write code that is more readable and clear about what it is trying to do. Features like the expansion of what a switch statement can test, switch expressions, and discards might help you write case-based algorithms much more cleanly and in a way that clearly demonstrates your intent and clearly lines up with the desired business rule.
