Represent 2020

The volume two of the Rhythmic Astral Psychology project, the concept is still on our same guy experimenting with the same vibes of the real Hip-Hop elements to another threshold of vibes fused with the old and new range of real Hip-Hop that’s still in existence and relevant. The artwork of this concept’s volume is of the same guy now out of our ‘Milky Way Galaxy’ in the universe and out of his supposed space ship, swerving a not so small type of meteorite that passes between him and his space ship, whiles he’s watching an on-coming boulder of a meteor. This here, is to show how serious things are getting from there, since there’s no going back.

The tracks in this is six of two, making it even. The first one is ‘The Blaze’ which features the likes of Baza and 86 with beat production by Griotzmusic. This track was inspired by the beat and the beat was inspired by the years of listening to the real Hip-Hop over and over again, fusing this type of vibe into us to produce it. We had no one in particular in mind making this but of the ‘whole’.
The second one is ‘Just do it’ with beat produced by Griotzmusic and is inspired by one of the greatest to ever do it, a legend known as Black Thought. When we first made the beat, listening to it over and over brought into mind the question ‘what would he do on it?’ and then the whole idea sparked into our creative source to bring this out in the making.
The third track being ‘Black jack’ which features Parker V and Baza with beat production by Griotzmusic is a track that was inspired by ‘The Day the Earth Cried’ by the Grave Diggers in the way of the story arch of them fighting the invaders coming in to attack them and enslave them. The twist in our story arch has to do with us being the ‘black’ slave masters and terrorizing those that came in to kill and enslave our forefathers. Listening to the track, you’ll hear all the lines and vibes as we tend to talk and act as they did to us in the days, especially watching those kind of movies.
The fouth track is ‘Represent 2020’ with production by Griotzmusic which is our rendition of the ‘Nasir Jones’ version of ‘Represent’ tackling his type of topic but from our side of the globe. In the start of the beat making process, we made the beat exactly as his was but then we later changed our drum pattern and flipped it into our feel and how we wanted to go about it. In that year, a whole lot happened in our country so that gave us a lot to put into our sound, and in the end we came out with this version of ours.
The fifth track is ‘We Will Win’ with beat production by Griotzmusic being one sound that also came into being through all the inspirations we had over time. With the beat bearing the elements of Hip-Hop, we got the poetic type of lyrics to pour it all over the beat making it what we ended up with.
The sixth track is ‘Tribal Arts’ which features Geoy Cofie with production by Griotzmusic. This sound was also an inspiration from the whole lot of sounds we have been bathed with since childhood. Making it more of an ‘outro’ for that volume, we went in all rap with no chorus.
