Virtual Machine Migration with Cloud Endure

Strategy -Cloud migration service:

Cloud endure is a free service it supports from on prem to cloud, cloud to cloud, cloud endure is an agent base migration technology supports VMs running in any virtualisation environment and also supports physical servers. .
Cloud endure agent has no dependencies this can migrate live running machines with all the updates.
Before installing CloudEndure agents, it is important to create the IAM credentials required to configure CloudEndure portal. On this Lab, the CloudEndure IAM user have already been created, so we will proceed only collecting the Access Key and Secret Access Key for the CloudEndure user.
In this exercise, you perform the following tasks:
1. VPC with public subnet.
2. IAM user
3. Ec2 server.
• Log on AWS Console
• Create the Access Key and Secret Access Key for CloudEndure user

After connecting to cloud endure service
Fill in migration source machine and migration target


-install agent on client computer
For Linux machines
Download the CloudEndure Agent Installer for Linux:
wget -O ./installer_linux.py https://console.cloudendure.com/installer_linux.py
Then run the Installer and follow the instructions:
sudo python ./installer_linux.py -t 4EA4-CA4A-280C-3E5F-8595-C0EC-9F41-18B4-50F0-FD3A-1A2B-D668-AD0B-CA3C-2897-6765 --no-prompt
For Windows machines

Download the Agent Installer for Windows, then launch using this command:

-start migration agent on client computer on cloud endure page

-Monitor migration on cloud endure dashboard-Ones source target is completed setup the blue print.
The Initial Sync is comprising several steps:
1. Creating firewall rules.
2. Creating and booting replication server.
3. Resolving the CloudEndure Service Manager address in the replication server.
4. Authenticating the replication server with the CloudEndure Service Manager.
5. Downloading the CloudEndure replication software to the replication server.
6. Creating staging disks.
7. Attaching the staging disks to the replication server.
8. Pairing the CloudEndure User Agent with the replication server.
9. Establishing communication between the CloudEndure Agent and the replication server.

- Test migrated machine ones migration is completed and enable production machine after testing has been completed.
