Facial Recognition Attendance System using JAVA OpenCV MySQL

The facial attendance system is an innovative solution for managing attendance in schools, colleges, and organizations. The system uses facial recognition technology to identify individuals and log their attendance automatically. It offers several advantages over traditional attendance methods, such as reducing the time and effort required to manage attendance and eliminating the need for manual processes like paper-based registers.

The system uses a camera or webcam to capture images of individuals and preprocesses them using the Local Binary Pattern Histograms (LBPH) algorithm. The LBPH algorithm extracts features from the images and generates histograms for each region of the face. These histograms are then used to compare the detected face with known faces in a database. The system calculates a matching score or confidence level to determine if the detected face is a match with a known face in the database.

The system is built using Java programming language and integrates with JavaFX to provide an interactive and user-friendly interface. OpenCV library is used for face detection and image processing. The system uses a MySQL database to store known faces and attendance data.
