Roblox Studio Tutorial Run Speed Boost with Effects and Scripting

In this Roblox Studio Tutorial, we are creating a run speed boost for our game. I have also added a blue ring around the players feet and to enhance the effect even more I added lightning and a glow to it.

For the run speed boost icon we added a Screen GUI with an image label attached to it, so the player can click this to activate the speed boost. The icon for the speed skill was an image I created and I show you how to add new assets/images to your Roblox Studio project workspace, so that you can use them. To complete the icon I added a script for the cool down timer of the skill, in our case I set it to 4 secs and deactivated the icon button so the player can only click it every 4 seconds. Visually the player can see they have clicked on the icon and can see the cool down counting down so it works great!

When the speed boost event is triggered I used a remote event in replicated storage and added a new Server script in Roblox Studio to control the values of the speed boost. In this Roblox Scripting Tutorial the speed boost is gradually increasing as I apply short wait intervals for the 4 second duration of the skill.

You can use these elements in this Tutorial for just about any attack or healing spell. For example the ring around the players feet and lightning effects could be added to any skill effect, such as a healing ring or AOE attack, or even a AOE Boss attack.
