Be / Being / Been شرح مبسط مع الأمثلة

#be_being_been use
Be is the infinitive and the base form of the verb before being conjugated, once it becomes adjacent to a subject, the form changes into ( am, is, are, was, were ) depending on the tense and subjects as well .

But sometimes, when using the subjuntive, verb BE doesn’t take any form or changes even if the subject or tense is changed.
EX :
•
We have made a request that we not be disturbed.
•
It is important that a car be waiting when we arrive.
•
They made a suggestion that we be here early.
•
He requested that the car park not be locked at night.
BEING : is the form of be + ing that is used in 3 major cases :
1)progressive/ continuous tense : followed by a noun or adj

Mark is Being generous ( behaving or acting generously/ rudely)

2) passive voice in past continuous tense followed by a P.P
Yesterday, Mark was being arrested by he policeman./ The policeman was arresting Mark yesterday.
The girl is being crushed by the car / The car is crashing the girl .

3)Being as a gerund  : generalization followed by P.P
Being nice makes you respectable by people .
Being told what to do is not good .

So the word BEING is used wether to mean the past or the present but in the future we don’t use it.
EX : We will be being, will being, is ganna be being …
BEEN : is used only and restrictively in perfect tenses just like in past, present and future perfect and perfect continuous …

EX : She has been to Italy . (present perfect)
The students have been studying since morning.(present perfect continuous)
She will have been accepted by the college.(future perfect in passive voice )
When we use BEEN, we always talking about perfect tenses, and you’d never use it only with a subject like in :

I BEEN, SHE BEEN,
so we definitely need have, has or had before it…
