Fusion 360 - Offset Tutorial 181

In this tutorial we'll use the features:
Extrude
Offset
Fillet

All dimensions are in mm/g/s/ISO

In Fusion 360, the "Offset" command is a tool used to create new sketches or modify existing ones by offsetting existing curves, lines, or edges by a specified distance. This is particularly useful when you need to create concentric or parallel shapes or when you want to adjust the size of a sketch or feature while maintaining a consistent distance from the original geometry. Here's how you can use the Offset command in Fusion 360:

To Offset a Sketch:

Open or create a sketch where you want to apply the offset.

Select the "Sketch" menu in the top menu bar.

Choose "Offset" from the Sketch menu. Alternatively, you can use the "O" keyboard shortcut.

In the Offset dialog box, you'll see various options:

Offset Type: You can choose to offset the sketch entities by a specified distance ("Distance") or by a percentage ("Percentage") of the original size.
Entities: Select the sketch curves, lines, or edges you want to offset.
Distance: Enter the offset distance (or percentage) that you want to apply.
Direction: You can choose the direction of the offset (inside or outside) if applicable to the geometry.
Chain Selection: This option allows you to select a chain of connected sketch entities for offsetting.
Keep Original: If checked, the original sketch entities remain in place alongside the new offset sketch.
After configuring the options, click "OK."

You will be prompted to select the entities to offset. Click on the sketch entities you want to offset.

Fusion 360 will create the offset sketch alongside the original sketch entities, maintaining the specified distance or percentage.
