Scindapsus, also known as satin leaf, is a genus of flowering plants of the Aracaceae tribe. This plant is commonly found in Southeast Asia, New Guinea, Queensland, and several areas in the Pacific islands.

Scindapsus is difficult to distinguish from Epipremnun. The basic difference seen is the number of seeds produced by the two genera. The Scindapsus genus only has one ovule in one ovum while Epipremnum has more than one ovule in one ovum. Scindapsus seeds are round shaped rather like a kidney. This plant is a vines.
One type of Scindapsus is Scindapsus pictus is a species of flowering plants that can propagate to reach a length of 3 meters in open ground. Evergreen vines. Younger plants have oval-shaped leaves with flat edges, while mature plants have pinnate leaves. Green leaf color with silver or gray spots on the leaf surface.
This plant has flowers but is rarely seen. The name 'pictus' has the meaning 'painted' (painted or painted) in reference to the varigated (mottled) pattern on its leaves. This plant is tolerant of cold temperatures up to 15oC. These plants are widely used as indoor ornamental plants in temperate regions and generally have a height of about 90 cm. This plant is often used as a hanging plant.
