Does IT industry need DevOps Engineers?

Ideally, Development teams and Operations teams in an organization should have knowledge of each other's tasks. However, that's might not be possible or easy. Their mindsets are completely different.

The Developers create code, creates classes, methods, objects and might not understand Networks and other infrastructure stuff. And the Operations team might not understand classes, objects and other stuff.

That's where is the need of people who have knowledge of Development and knowledge of Operations team and who can collaborate between these teams to ensure a smooth deployment of application. DevOps is the culture that solves this problem by combining the people from both teams, their processes and the products and enable a continuous delivery of value to our users.
Because of the ease of using Azure DevOps and it being a continuous process, DevOps Engineers are of high value in the IT industry these days.


About Build Agents
As you know, a build agent is a piece of installable software that runs one build or deployment job at a time. To build your code or deploy the software you need at least one agent. As you add more code and people, you'll eventually need more than one.

MICROSOFT-HOSTED AGENTS
• If your pipelines are in Azure Pipelines, then you've got a convenient option to run your jobs using a Microsoft-hosted agent. With Microsoft-hosted agents, maintenance and upgrades are taken care of for you. Each time you run a pipeline, you get a fresh virtual machine. The virtual machine is discarded after one use. Microsoft-hosted agents can run jobs directly on the VM or in a container.

• You can add software during your build or release using tool installer tasks.
• Provide at least 10 GB of storage for your source and build outputs.
• Provide a free tier:
o Public project:
o Private project:

Microsoft-hosted agents do not offer:
• The ability to sign in.
• The ability to drop artifacts to a UNC file share.
• The ability to run XAML builds.
• Potential performance advantages that you might get by using self-hosted agents that might start and run builds faster.
