### HOW TO USE ASSrenamer ###

This is a short introduction and workflow tutorial for the A.S.S.renamer tool - The "Atomos Shogun Sequence Renamer"

The tool renames CinemaDNG sequences recorded by Atomos Shogun recorders.
They are named in a fashion that makes post-production a bit harder than it should be.

Now I show you the problem with the file naming and the workflow that makes working with CinemaDNG files a lot easier.

### This is the bad way

- normally you would use a import trick in Premiere to import the file sequences with the Import Dialog that I show you later
- and if you have imported the sequences they would look like this, with all sequences named the same, which is hoorible for any further work and we just stop here.


### The Good Way: First Step - Coping files from the SSD to your computer

- After the sequences are recorded to the SSD, copy the who folder structure from the SSD to your computer. It is important to leave the folder structure as is.

### Second Step - Renaming with ASSrenamer

- Select the root folder were all the sequences that should be renamed are in.

- You see the number of sequences that have been detected by ASSrenamer in the status field of the window.

- Just press "Rename File Sequences"

ASSrenamer now renames all sequences from the selected root folder.

### Importing to Premiere

- After the sequences are properly renamed they can be imported in one go via Import Dialog.

- navigate to the root folder sequences that have been just renamed
- in the search field type "_frm_000000.dng" - this lists the first frame of all sequences in the sequence sub-folders
- select all of them or just the ones that should be imported and import them.
- now all CinemaDNG sequences are beeing immported as sequences with usable names.

### FINISH

- thats it, pretty easy with the help of ASSrenamer.
