Any Code Anywhere in WordPress | WordPress Code Snippets

To run code in WordPress backend or frontend or everywhere or at a selected place you do not need theme functions.php file in WordPress. Insert HTML, PHP code in pages, posts, theme, anywhere in WordPress. We have easy, clean and simple way to run code, independent of theme or plugins on wordpress site. You don't have to add custom code to your theme's functions.php file. You can keep custom code separate from theme to make it flexible and maintainable. You can change the theme without worrying about losing your custom code snippets.

Code snippet can be HTML code or PHP code that can be used to extend the functionality of a WordPress-powered website. Snippets can be activated and deactivated, just like plugins. Snippets can be exported and then imported to any wordpress site. Go to plugins and install 'Code Snippets' plugin. As you activate this plugin, you get few snippets by default.

Create new snippet. You can create HTML based snippet. You can use PHP here as well. I can create snippet and use its shortcode in posts, pages, widgets or in theme to display it's output. You can use this shortcode as is in posts, pages or in editor. But if you use it in theme file, you will have to use do_shortcode function. It was for HTML / PHP snippet. Then we have functions php tab. Create snippets here that can be applied everywhere, only in administrative area or only for frontend.

In frontend in body classes, we dont have page name specific class. So I used a function to add slug based class in pages and posts, and targetted it for frontend. Now this code will add body class based on slug throughout site. So this is how you can use code snippets. I have used this plugin a lot. It is still my favorite when I need to quickly add code to wordpress site.
