Turok Evolution (PC) Chapter 1 Walkthrough

It has been so long since I've uploaded anything here hasn't it? Well, to all my royal subscribers, I am now going to walk-through the PC version of Turok Evolution! Big thanks to Dinomite for helping me get the game up and running on my PC!

Now, about the PC version of this game, it released in 2003 in Europe only. It is a port of the Xbox version, which is graphically the best console port of them all so of course it would be so right to port that version over to PC. Also, multiplayer mode is missing in the PC menu yet nearly all files to it still exist in this version and my bud Dinomite has actually got it re-enabled! It does work though it may have a tendency to crash. And if you are wondering why this version didn't include multiplayer in the first place, it was because Super Happy Fun Fun, responsible for the PC port of Evolution, 'muted' it out because it was the console only multiplayer. A second reason could be because Acclaim Entertainment at the time of Turok Evolution were on their last legs and having servers for any game costs money, and they do not have that money. Oh, and of course this version was released in Europe so it wouldn't be worth it to have implemented an official online multiplayer for the port.

Anyways, its not too bad of a port as people claim to be. Yes it has its issues with the mouse sensitivity, sound quality is shabby, save options may not save, and most of all save game files can go corrupt for no reason. All issues aside, I still like this version and would not want to go back to the PS2, GCN, and Xbox versions ever again. This version's controls and framerate are the best of all, and to be honest any game is so right on PC :D

Well, that's all I got to say, overall, decent port. If you do want to play this version, you can get it over on Abandonware and you could ask Dinomite for helping you get it installed. Unless you know how to use Daemon Tools Lite and the virtual disk stuff.
