Technical Drawing Building Elevation By Hand

A building elevation technical drawing documentary. In this video, you'll learn about some architectural drawing techniques that can be used for communicating your drawings to viewers.

 I saw this building on one of my walks and took out my sketch/log book to sketch a rough image of the building, I also took some notes of the building that will help me to create a more developed sketch when I got home.

 
Why didn't I just take a photo of it with a modern day phone camera that's available to everyone? Because there's something special about sketching, when you sketch, you are sort of forging the memory of what you're seeing in your mind, you're reinforcing the your memory power by observing all the details of the subject (the building) and sketching them out.



Once I had all my notes, I produced a more developed sketch which you see near the beginning of this video, and from there I used the developed sketch as a reference to create gridlines so that I could layout the technical drawing, and then go over it in pen.
