? Learn Python with Google | Test Driven Development | Video Log - Week 8

This is week 8 of my learn python with google video log.

During week 8 I have Completed the Module 3 (regex) lab and graded assessment (Working with Regular Expressions). It wasn't easy. But I got it.

Completed the assessment I started the module 4 of the course, Managing Data and processes.
Here we studied: data streams reading data interactively, standard streams, environment variables, command-line arguments, exit status.

At the end of the section there was a QUIZ with 5 questions.

The second section of module 4 was related to Python subprocesses where we used the subprocess python module and studied how to:
run system commands in python,
obtain the output of a system command,
some advanced concepts.

Then again a QUIZ with 5 questions to close the section and validate our new knowledge.

The final section of module 4 was about Processing log files and here we used regex to filter log files and retrieve some information.
Another QUIZ with 5 questions before the module graded assessment.

Module 4 ended with a final graded assessment where we Managed data and subprocesses and completed an assignment related to process and work with log files.

Then I moved to the fifth module of the course. Testing in Python.

In the first section of the module, we studied simple Tests concepts, and got an Introduction to testing and covered the difference between Manual testing and automated testing.
Another QUIZ, 5 questions then I moved to the following section where things became quite interesting and challenging.

In the second section, we studied Unit Tests:
how to write unit tests in python,
we wrote some edge cases
and additional edge cases.

To close the section we did some practice using the Jupyter notebook for about 1h.

In the third section of the module we studied Other Test Concepts like:
- Wite box vs Black box testing
- Different types of Tests like Unittest, Integration test, smoke test, load tests, regression tests
- Test Driven Development.

To close this section the usual QUIZ with 5 questions.

Then the final section before the assignment where we studied Errors and Exceptions.
Here we covered:
- Error Handling
- Try/Except construct
- Testing for expected errors.

We did some more practice using the Jupyter notebook for 1h.

My week ended here and I can assure you it was quite hard. Mostly the section about testing.
At the end of the course, I will take a couple of weeks to go through the course material again and build a consolidation plan.
