Space Engineers Machine Evolution Module Code Reader
Modules will be designed for specific functions to be added to the work under construction as instructed by the coding strings. These various modules will be floating in the "soup". The nanite will have to be able to locate a module, grab onto it, orient its module code block to its reader and read what type of module it is, comparing it to the module it is seeking, and either discarding it or adding it to the work piece.
This is an initial test of using connectors to do both the initial orientation of the code block to be read using a central connector which stays enabled in the floating modules, connecting it to the central connector of the module code pattern, then pattern matching of the module code against the code being sought. The nanite will have a complete connector grid pattern of 5x5 (or whatever it ends up being) and will only enable the connectors to match the code being sought.
It is possible that another method using merge blocks may be preferable. If so, the method of orienting the reader to the module code displayed will have to be developed, because I have no idea right now how that could be done, but honestly, I haven't thought about it yet, lol.
