Fluorescent (by GaRyArTs) - Android Homescreen Tutorial

If minimal looks, vibrant colors and a unique design sound good for an Android homescreen then you are going to love GaRyArTs' Screen of the Day titled Fluorescent. It's bold mix of red and yellow combine well against a dark grey background. This 2-page setup gives you a clock on one page, weather on the other, with minimal icons surrounding them. Part 1: Before you begin

These are the apps you will need:

or Nova/Apex/ADW if you have a Samsung Galaxy S3 or Note 2 (or similar resolution)

Part 2: SS Launcher Setup

Now you can do this with either Nova/Apex or Holo Launcher, but it is a lot easier with SS Launcher. Only use Nova/Apex if the UCCW skins fit perfectly. Also this screen works the best for the paid version (The Original) as some parts and options can't be chosen with the free version.

1. Drag all the widgets into the 'trash bin' at the top.
2. Go into the Menu - Preferences.
3. Enable Full Screen, Disable Scroll Wallpaper, Go back
4. Go into Menu - Theme - Label.
5. Enable Hide Labels, Apply Changes.
6. Change Page Transition Type if needed, as well as reducing the transition speed.
7. In the Main menu, add

Part 3: Wallpaper Setup

1. Hold down on the homescreen - Wallpaper.
2. Select your preferred gallery app, then select the wallpaper that is more or less the resolution of your phone.
3. As long as the wallpaper fits the width and touches the bottom, select OK/Done to select your wallpaper.

Part 4: Shortcut Setup

1. Hold down on the homescreen - New Shortcut
2. For a shortcut - Type = App, for a page (e.g. App Page) Type = Page.
3. Style - Icon only with no background.
4. Icon - Icon - Add an image - Find the specified icon.
5. Change Icon size to 250x250 in case you can't resize it.
6. Apply Settings - Apply Settings.
7. Resize the shortcut accordingly.

Part 5: UCCW

To add the skins:

- Hold down on the homescreen - New Widget - UCCW - any size.
- In the main menu after tapping the widget, select "uzip", now just find where you pasted the folder and look for the skin you want to add.
- After it appears on your homesreen, resize it to the way it looks in the video.
- Add all the .uzips provided.
- Hold down on the skin, then tap the skin, this will allow for complete resizing and moving of the skin.
- You might have to re-position the skin's objects, see the link below for more info on moving objects as well as general UCCW tips.
