[Python Basics for Newbies] Objects and Name Assignment: Scoping, Mutability, and Identity

In this episode, we're doing something a bit different. Instead of continuing an existing 'Intro to Python' project or creating a new one, we're doing a sort of 'in-between' episode, where we review the most complex topics that our previous episodes have touched on: OOP and mutability.

Here, I do a lot of lecturing and demonstrate as many examples as I can come up with to demonstrate the significance of mutability and to help novice programmers understand object 'identity,' which is really what mutability is all about!

Essentially, this is a bunch of information that I skip over on Intro to Python, since that show is mostly about PRACTICAL Python for beginners. The idea is to begin writing fun programs as quickly as possible, so, if I think that it isn't super important to understand an idea right away -- as long as it works -- I'll skip over it.

In this case, though, we're doing a ton of talking about something that SEEMS very simple (and, once you understand it, IS very simple), but which can cause you problems and which can be difficult to understand at first. In other words, we're talking all about assignment.
