Using sticky notes - Stitchmastery weekly tip

This video explains how to use the sticky notes feature in Stitchmastery. You will find the icon of a little yellow rectangle with folded corner above the stitch palette. Click on that and your cursor will change to a cross with extended rectangle, click and drag to draw where you'd like your note to go - NB you can't initially place a note over your chart but you can later move it. It's best to start by placing the note on some blank space at the edge of your Drawing area.

When you create the note, it will automatically provide an active text box to type into, but if you want to make changes, click twice (with a gap - not a double-click) directly on the text to activate that again - the same way that you change text in your key entries. If you want the text to go onto two lines, press control and enter at the same time (or command and return if you are on a macOS device).

You can then click and drag the note to sit wherever you'd like. Your note will remain in place until you move or delete it, even if you save and close the knt2 file. You can also export the notes - eg if you want to pinpoint the exact area relating to a question. There is a tick-box option to "Include Sticky Notes" under Diagram + Export to Image - only if you are exporting the whole Drawing area, it's not available if you are exporting the chart or key alone. Even if you have a sticky note sitting over your chart and you select the chart to export alone, the sticky note won't appear.
