DESCRIPTION of INDEX function
Within a table or range, the INDEX function returns a value or a reference to a value.
The value of an element in a table or an array, as determined by the row and column number indexes, is returned.

If the first argument to INDEX is an array constant, use the array form.
INDEX(array, row num, [column num]) is a syntax.
The INDEX function's array form has the following arguments:
array is a must. A cell range or an array constant.
If the array just has one row or column, the row num or column num arguments are not required.
INDEX returns an array of the full row or column in array if array has more than one row and more than one column and just row num or column num is used.
row num If column num is not present, it is required. Returns a value from the specified row in the array. If row num is not specified, column num must be specified.
column num Optional. Returns a value from the specified column in the array. Row num is required if column num is missing.

Remarks
INDEX returns the value in the cell at the intersection of row num and column num if both the row num and column num arguments are used.
INDEX gives a #REF! error if row num and column num do not point to a cell within the array.
INDEX returns the array of values for the full column or row if row num or column num are both set to 0 (zero). Enter the INDEX function as an array formula to use the values returned as an array.
