About this video: This is a very quickly and simple tutorial that will show you how to fix the JNI error in Java when you encounter it in Minecraft. You could get this error when starting a Minecraft server, or you could get a JNI error when launching Minecraft Forge or start a Paper Minecraft server. You could also get the JNI error when running other Java programs, however, Minecraft is the most common game to have this issue. So, let’s go ahead and show you how to fix the JNI error in Java for your Minecraft server or Minecraft mods!

The JNI error is caused by something pretty simple. You do not have the correct version of Java for your Minecraft server or Minecraft mod. You aren’t looking for Java specifically though. You are actually looking for the Java Development Kit. This is what developers use to create Java applications like Minecraft servers and the Forge Mod Loader.

However, you also need the Java Development Kit in order to run these applications, and that is why you need the Java JDK in order to fix the JNI error on your Minecraft server. How can you get the Java JDK? Well, we have a link in the description above to the Java JDK. Specifically, we have a complete guide on how to get the Java Development Kit in the description above.

Once you are on our website, click the Yellow ‘Download Java Development Kit’ button to be taken to the Java JDK download. Once you are there, scroll down and click the down link next to the Windows installer. This will download the Java Development Kit installer. You may need to keep or save the installer depending on your browser.

After you have the installer downloaded, double click it on it. The setup for the JDK will open up. Click ‘Next’ and then click ‘Next’ again. The Java JDK will then install. Find ‘Finish’ when it is down. Finally, you will be able to start your Minecraft server, open up the Forge launcher, or run your Java program!
