Russell Maxfield - "Architecture and layout the easy way"

This talk will walk a user through setting up and developing an angular app using modern tools that is production ready. This includes a scaffold that has been created that is set up for development, has unit testing with karma and jasmine, e2e testing, and grunt to build, test, and minify code for prod.


Russ really wants to help people get beyond the basics of Angular and into building real, production-ready apps. He is passionate about helping others learn, and I'm excited to hear from him!

Joe Skeen - "Using TypeScript with AngularJS to Enhance your Development Experience"

Angular 2 is built on TypeScript, and though it's not required for building apps, it is a super useful tool. TypeScript is an open source development language that is a strict superset of JavaScript with the goal of enhancing the development experience. It features an opt-in approach, ranging from simple type definition references in JavaScript compatible comments, to full implementation of types, interfaces, classes, and other ECMAScript 6 features.


Joe's talk is a hands-on walk through converting a vanilla JS Angular 1 applications to use TypeScript. I saw him present at OpenWest and he did a great job helping me understand TypeScript much better!

Joe has first-hand experience building large apps with TypeScript and can attest to the advantages that it brings to a team. He recently told me that in converting an Angular project to use TypeScript, he found half-a-dozen bugs that existed for customers and were completely missed until types were introduced.
