INSTALLING IntelliJ IDE for Programming JAVA 17SE
This is the second video of the series on Learning to Program JAVA 17SE. In the previous video, we installed the JAVA language to be able to have an environment to execute programs that we write. In this video, we will be installing a tool that helps us to author or create code. Integrated Development Environment, IDE for short, provides an environment to run and execute code.
In this video, we will install an IDE, the IntelliJ IDE, community edition. While the community edition works just fine for a beginner, the professional version gives other useful tools. As a student, you are eligible for the full version of some of the great tools that the parent company JetBrains generously offers its educational tools. We will be installing IntelliJ on our personal computers. I have used the Windows 11 platform, which is similar to the Windows 10 platform.
