Description: We all know that data is a representation of the world we live in. Our increasingly connected world demands connected data. Traditionally isolated pieces of information must be turned into rich and massively interconnected domains meant to embody (more or less) both our reasoning and our representation of the world. By shifting focus from isolated data points to their relationships, graph-structured data models are becoming the de facto choice for representing knowledge, whether that is operational knowledge of a business organization, or the study of climate change. In this talk, we’ll review several key aspects of graph data models. We’ll also show an working example of taking an unstructured data set and turning it into a graph database using Python and Neo4j.
Bio: Aurelian ‘AD’ Dumitru had spent more than three decades designing and building everything from Hyper Scale Data Centers to Cloud, Big Data, IoT, Machine Learning and AI platforms, solutions and services. A former startup owner, AD has the fairly unique blend of business, technical, and entrepreneurial skills to take initiatives from the proverbial “back of the napkin” to multi million dollar outcomes. Currently, AD works for Dell as Chief Technologist for Data Management in the Office of the CTO.
